What we collect

Order details: name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number and what you ordered.
Payment details: handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card — we never see or store full card numbers.
Messages: anything you send us by email or through the contact form.
Website data: IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited, through cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

To take, deliver and support your order — performance of a contract.
To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
To answer your questions and improve the shop — legitimate interests.
To send marketing email — consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message.

Who we share it with

Only with the people who make your order happen: our ecommerce platform (Shopify), our payment provider, and the warehouses and carriers who pack and deliver your order. Some of these are outside the UK; where that happens the transfer is covered by the UK's international transfer safeguards. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Order and accounting records are kept for six years, as UK tax law requires. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept for two years.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. Email support@richardsonssofa.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

Our site runs over HTTPS and payments are processed by a PCI-compliant provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
